Canada to eliminate role of the Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE)

On June 11, Prime Minister Carney announced that his government will not be appointing a new Ombudsperson to investigate allegations of human rights abuses by Canadian corporations operating abroad and that, in fact, they will eliminate the position altogether.
