Friends and Allies

GRAN works closely with a number of organizations who share our concerns and our approach to issues. We gain considerable strength from their work. They include:

Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network/Reseau juridique canadien VIH/sida "promotes the human rights of people living with and vulnerable to HIV/AIDS, in Canada and internationally, through research and analysis, advocacy and litigation, public education and community mobilization."

Girls Not Brides partners with more than 450 civil society organizations across the globe. The commitment to end child marriage and enable girls to fulfill their potential unites these organizations in over 70 countries.

Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development/Coalition interagence sida et developpement: ICAD is a coalition of approximately 100 service and international development organizations that helps Canadians contribute to international HIV/AIDS work and ensures that lessons learned from the global response help to improve prevention, care, treatment and support work in Canada.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) provides medical assistance in many kinds of medical emergencies and catastrophes. GRAN’s concerns intersect most closely with the MSF Access Campaign, launched in 1999 from funds received from their award of the Nobel Peace Prize.  The Access Campaign works to increase access to, and the development of, essential medicines and vaccines.

RESULTS Canada combines grassroots advocacy with strategic actions to leverage funding to support programs and policies that "give the world's poorest people the health, education, and opportunity they need to thrive."

TRANSLATORS WITHOUT BORDERS:  The mission of Translators without Borders (TWB) is to support humanitarian work around the world by providing free translations.  TWB            facilitates the transfer of knowledge from one language to another by creating and managing a community of NGOs who need translations and professional, vetted translators who volunteer their time to help.

Women, Peace and Security Network-Canada: WPSN-C is a network of over 60 individuals and organizations that works with the Government of Canada to ensure that UN resolutions relevant to women, peace and security are implemented and monitored. It also provides an important forum to exchange ideas and actions.
