Health

Every 6 seconds a child dies from a preventable illness or disease. From pre-pregnancy through to early childhood, we are committed to providing health and nutrition programs in the world’s poorest and most fragile communities to save children's lives and ensure they grow up healthy.

Education

Millions of children are being robbed of an education because of who they are or where they live. Education improves life-long health, income and prospects. We work to ensure every child receives a quality education and gains the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.

Protection

Too many children around the world live in danger. We are there for vulnerable children, keeping them safe from harm whether they are living on the streets, in refugee camps, or in institutions. We also work to change national and international policies on child protection.

Gender Equality

Gender equality is a basic right for all people, including children. We are committed to addressing gender-based discrimination and promoting gender equality through our programs so children in all regions of the world can attain their equal right to survival, protection, development and participation.

Reconciliation

We recognize that not all children’s rights are equally realized in Canada, and those most deprived of their rights are First Nations, Metis, and Inuit children. That’s why we are focusing our programs in Canada on reconciliation through a child-centred approach.
