GRAN Uganda Trip 2019

We have another amazing opportunity in early 2109 to travel to Uganda to visit African grandmothers and others. We are partnering with the Canadian relief and development organization, GIVE International, which organized and hosted GRAN’s trip to Uganda in 2018. That trip was so worthwhile and they took such good care of us that we are offering a similar trip to our GRAN members next year.  Please consider joining us for this life-changing experience.
The 2019 trip will take place from February 3rd to February 15th. Most of that time will be spent in and around the city of Jinja, which is a beautiful, safe area on the shores of Lake Victoria. While there, we will take basic supplies to families living in impoverished situations, assist with a breakfast program, hold a medical clinic in an outlying area, and visit orphanages, schools, and health care facilities.  And, most importantly, we will meet with Ugandan grandmothers and hear their stories.  We will also spend a couple of days in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, meeting organizations that carry out advocacy and provide services to older women.  This is an opportunity for GRANs to learn firsthand about the lives of Ugandan grandmothers and to build relationships with Ugandan advocacy organizations.
In addition to these learning and networking opportunities, we will have the chance to take a boat trip to the source of the Nile River and to visit places that offer views of this iconic river.  And, if there is sufficient interest, a short safari in Kenya's amazing Maasi Mara National Reserve will be arranged at the end of the trip.
The application form, along with more detailed information, is available in the resources box below.

February 2019 may seem far away, but the deadline for submitting your application and first payment is September 15, 2018.
Please email us at by early July to let us know of your interest.
Do consider joining us!
