Hello GRAN Advocates,
GRAN has been invited to present at a Photo Gallery Walk on Parliament Hill on the theme of education during International Development Week. We will be using the attached photo of GRANs in Uganda in 2018 as our submission. The purpose of the event is to highlight the work being done by Canadian NGO’s to raise the profile of education in development, and to show what Canadian NGO’s are doing in the field. The intended audience for this exhibit is Members of Parliament. As MP’s are very busy, we need to encourage them to take the time to drop by to view this presentation.
Please help us by personally inviting your MP to attend the Photo Gallery Walk. Please call your MP with the message below. You can find your MP’s phone number by clicking here.
“My name is ____________ and I am one of your constituents. I would like to encourage you to attend a Photo Gallery Walk sponsored by the Canadian International Education Policy Working Group (CIEPWG) during International Development Week. At this education photo walk, you will be able to find out more about what Canadian NGO’s are doing to advocate and plan for quality education for all in developing countries. My organization, the Grandmothers Advocacy Network, will be participating. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 4th from 5:30-7:30 at the Wellington Building, 180 Wellington, Room 430. You will have recently received an invitation. I hope you will take the time to attend this inspiring Photo Gallery.”
**Please let GRAN know that you have made the phone call by dropping us a quick email at firstname.lastname@example.org
There are a number of events happening across the country during International Development Week. There may be events in your community that you'd like to attend. You can access calendars of events via this web page developed by the Canadian Council for International Co-operation (CCIC) specifically for International Development Week. Once there, just scroll down to the bottom of the page to find two events calendars, one created and updated by Global Affairs Canada and the other by the CCIC.
Wishing you an active and inspirational International Development Week, February 2nd - 8th.
